After four days on the train, who wants to go camping in the coldest capital city in the world?! We do! Maybe it was more like glamping but right out of our train berth we moved into a ger, the traditional Mongolian yurt. Which is basically a giant round tent with a wood/yak shit burning fireplace in the middle. No shower after four days.. what's three more!

 

We drove through the countryside, rode camels, held falcons, visited Turtle Rock in the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park and climbed to the top of the biggest Genghis Kahn statue in the world! We even got to witness the first snowfall of the season.. and made a snowman. A beautiful country filled with wildlife that we would love to visit again, in the summertime :)
